Mowing Height

Mowing your grass at the proper height promotes thick, healthy growth and strong drought-hardy root systems. Proper mowing technique during the spring and early summer means a better lawn during less than ideal growing conditions. Through July and August, the heat ramps up and precipitation tends to decrease. During this time, your grass will be much happier if it is cut about an inch higher than in cooler, wetter weather. Since grass is not growing vigorously during this time, less frequent mowing is necessary as well.
